A Shorts Story, by Ojo Fashions

It all started in March of 2020. I had but a dream, two sewing machines and a worldwide pandemic lockdown that kept me safe and focused in my studio to create a new fashion line for both women and men.

Ojo Fashions was born in the beautiful Southwest, where the mountains are grand, the skies are wide and open, and our rivers are crisp, cold and rushing with lively and abundant fish. The most impressive and magnificent wildlife adorn our environment and at Ojo, I’m committed to doing my part to keep our beautiful environment that way.

Creating a sustainable fashion line with comfort and style in mind was a top priority.
Fast fashion manufacturing is responsible for 10% of the world’s carbon emissions. Why? Excessive water usage, toxic chemicals used in manufacturing, shipping and transportation, and the abundant amount of corporate waste.

Scary Fact: Did you know that major fashion companies don’t even process your returns? It’s so cheap for fast fashion companies to manufacture their products that it costs more to process a return, so they just throw the returned products into the landfill. 2-3% of the major fashion lines apparel never even makes it to onto the sales floor. It goes directly into a landfill.

The Ojo Fashions Line is created using designer end fabrics, deadstock, upcycled fabrics and rethrifted gems that I source locally, reducing fuel consumption, water consumption, shipping, and travel. Ojo Fashions supports our local economy by purchasing our resources and manufacturing locally in Colorado.
